For many of us, our initial experiences of sport often occur within the school environment and it is these founding experiences that determine whether we have a continued interest, understanding or even passion for sport as we grow up.
I was fortunate from a very young school age to have sport presented to me in a positive, engaging and exciting context, such that it laid the foundations of my own sporting career and then my professional career – one that I feel very privileged to be involved in every day.
I am absolutely committed to ensuring that the Foundation works with schools to advocate and deliver the same key messages and positive experiences in school sport that drew me into a lifetime of involvement with sport and its wide ranging benefits.

Delivering a variety of exciting, sustainable healthy activities for our children is paramount and working closely with CSF to tailor a programme to fit our school has been crucial to our successful outcomes.
Working with CSF, who are dedicated to maximising the key outcomes for the School Sport Premium, health, wellbeing, character education, up-skilling teachers, sustainability, increasing extra-curricular participation from school to clubs and competition, under a quality assurance validation from National Children’s University, has been a win win for Finham children and the wider community.

Here at Wyken Croft, we have had a very positive impact on children's physical development during the gym lessons this term. We have seen them progress and take the learning for these lesson to their independent learning. The Children have learnt skills that will be transferable to many areas of the EYFS curriculum and have also become more confident as a result. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the session and have had fun. They all look forward to the PE time.

As a school, we have been using the skills and facilities available at the Centre AT7 to give our Year 6 pupils a greater variety of sporting experiences.
From the climbing wall and swimming lessons, to team games and trampolining, we have found that the staff and the centre have organised a rotation of activities that has meant that all 90 pupils were able to participate simultaneously with very little non activity time.
The range of activities offered that could not be taught in a school environment have meant that pupils have gained skills and experiences that they would never have found in their educational setting.
– Lars Waldron - Year 6 teacher, Frederick Bird Primary School
CSF have been working with Edgewick for a number of years now, providing a veriety of after school clubs, ranging from gymnastics to tag rugby. The children build great relationships with the coaches and their confidence improves, term on term, not only within the activity, but throughout their school life. CSF offer great value for money, which means not only do the children benefit, but the school budget does too.
– Ruth Hegarty - Learning Mentor, Edgewick Community Primary School
Our children really enjoy the swimming lessons and have made great progress, which resulted in them managing to reach the Coventry schools swimming finals!
They have really benefited from the PE lessons, where they get to learn a variety of different sports and activities all taught by qualified coaches.
– Gareth Morris - PE Co-ordinator, Whoberley Hall Primary School
At Earlsdon our children thoroughly enjoy the sessions provided at Xcel Leisure Centre. They look forward to visiting the centre every week for the facilities we just don’t have at our school.
They appreciate the expertise the staff that work there have to offer and we have established very close links with Xcel Leisure Centre. They have helped us to make a positive change to Earlsdon Primary School’s P.E. Curriculum.
– Gary Gascoine - PE Co-ordinator, Earlsdon Primary School
We have used the AT7 leisure centres many facilities including swimming lessons, sports hall, outdoor adventure and outdoor football pitches. As a result of the excellent relationship we have with the sports foundation, our pupils have experienced first class PE provision in a top class venue. Our year 3 swimmers are now achieving higher swimming standards then ever before and this is mainly thanks to centre AT7.
– Jimmy Elliott - PE Leader Willenhall Community Primary & Whitmore Park Primary
A big thank you to AT7 and the staff who have led our sessions this term. The swimming lessons and street dancing provided by AT7 have been enjoyed by our SEN students each week. The staff have demonstrated an excellent understandingof our needs and ultimately this has been shown in the total engagement and enjoyment by all students and staff! We look forward to more sessions next term.
